Northern Ireland trainee TV producer sought

“Unpicking Carlingford, lough and quay” will be a documentary about Carlingford Lough, straddling the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. Envisioned for community TV, it will be low budget. But that doesn’t mean low quality.

“This is a passion project for me,” says producer Declan Cassidy. “When filming for my current tv series “Fusion Kitchen” (screening April 13-18 8pm and 20-25 2pm on dctv.ie/live) we visited Carlingford Oysters and I was blown away by how beautiful the lake is. I’m an avid sailor and, once you leave Dublin and head north, Carlingford is also the first marina that you come to, so the importance of the area also struck me. Then there’s the unique position of a body of water that sits on the border between North and South. It’s a documentary that’s waiting to be made, but I need to have someone north of the border to help inform it.”

“I’m looking for someone who is interested in getting involved in TV production. As a passion project, for community TV, it’s not very lucrative, but it’s a great opportunity to get your feet wet and see if TV production is for you.
